NCB were delighted to support the Project Manager of the Year category at this year’s Rail Staff Awards held on 7th October at the Ricoh Arena. Celebrating its 10^th anniversary, the awards brings together the best of the rail industry to reward those individuals/teams that have made a significant different to the industry.

Craig Young won the award for NCB in 2016 and was in attendance to handover the accolade for the 2017 winner.  Craig who has since been promoted to Programme Manager understands the impact of the discipline on the rail industry, “Project managers lead with determination and dedication to deliver the very best results for the project, making sure the outcomes are aligned to the clients’ expectations. With over 70 entries in the category, Amritpal Brom from CrossCountry was the worthy winner of the award.  Amritpal has worked for CrossCountry for two years and helped introduced a new IT system that has saved the operator half a million pounds. As well as implementing a new high-speed internet link and delivering a new delay repay solution, he oversaw a complex project to migrate a critical business system. Amritpal said, ‘One of the great things about IT is that when you deliver something, you can see the reaction, see the users using a faster system that you might have implemented. That benefit at the end is great’.
